Running, Rita's,Rainbows,and Rod...
I had invited all Speedsters to come out and celebrate National Running Day with a nice run and some water ice. We got more then we asked for. After our run and during our water ice intake the clouds gave us a sprinkle followed by a visit from Rod who brought with him a nice rainbow. All in all a great way to celebrate running.
The start of June brought us back to New Hope and also
brought out our biggest turnout in some time, we had 20 Speedsters come out and
give the uncanny workout a shot. When
the runners arrived and took a gander at the workout board all the comments I
heard resembled this: What the @#$*?Who
the @#$%? 500’s?Yeah that’s right we did 500’s and it was not
easy, but it was the type of workout that ask more of you and it got it.Nice work everyone!
Who came out?
Dennis, Tim, Kevin, Eric, Rich, Charlotte, The Accardo Clan
[Anothony, Amy, Luke, and Nick], Joe, Jay, Brian, Rod, Glenn, Mary, Scott,
Denise, and out for the first time this season because of an injury Allyson

I would like to announce our newest Speedster

putting her outgoing personality and contagious smile to more good use by
helping the Bucks County Speedsters as the Activities Director.Denise will be putting together an Activities
Committee to help her with all the events that we do each season and also
putting together some new ones too.If
you are interested in being a part of this committee please contact Denise.
As a vigorous month of May was coming to a close we ran a
fun hill workout or as close to fun as a hill workout can get.The workout started from the craft center in
Tyler State Park.We did a mile warm-up
to a killer little 100 meter hill that we hammered over and over again, a dozen
times.What makes this particular
workout fun is that the rest lap is 300 meters and all trail. The
workout was a total of 5 miles.
Joining me for the last hill workout of May:
Tim, Mary, Maria, Charlotte, Denise, Andrea, Steve, and Rod
who not only had perfect attendance for all workouts held in May, but also
perfect attendance for the entire season thus far.Awesome job Rod!Keep it up.
Speed workout:
This week and most likely for the entire month of June we
will be back at the New Hope Solebury High School track. We will be meeting at 6PM.
Randomness:
I have added a bunch of pictures to the slide show on the
Blog from last year’s Track Meet, in hopes of getting both those that have
signed up and those who have not excited. We still need quite a few people to sign up.I also finally added a set Calendar to the
Blog (located at the bottom of the site). The calendar is interactive in the sense that you can click on the workout
days and you are presented with a “map” option to help those not familiar with
the workout locations.I’m hoping this
tool will be found helpful.
Run the Gates:
It was awesome to see so many of you taking advantage of the
great weather we were presented today. Many
of you were out at the Run the Gates 5 miler both volunteering and running, it
sounds like some PB’s were set today and that is always great to hear.Tons of hardware was taken home too!Congratulations to everyone that participated
today.
Till we run into each other again, hopefully that will be
this Tuesday…
Yesterday was the first really hot day of the season for us,
and like we always have we survived.Maybe a tad slower than usual, but we still survived the heat. Now the workout on the other hand…The workout
was extremely tough! Some came to the
track expecting an easier workout, only to be disappointed.Sorry about that, but we need to continue are
push to become better and that’s only going to happen with some tough
workouts.I promise you that tomorrow’s
Hill Workout will be a fun one.As for
what this so called “tough workout” was and who was crazy enough to come out
see below:
Joining me was:
Paul, Tim, Charlotte, Brian, Cory, Rod, Dennis, Joe, Jay,
Steve, Denise, Haydee, John, and making their first appearances this season,
after a month’s of marathon training, was Rich Kanak and Mike Brown, welcome
back guys.
To celebrate National Running Day on Wednesday, June 6th I would like to invite you out for a run and some water ice. We will meet at the Rita's Water Ice in the Village Shires Shopping Center 1468 Buck Road Holland, PA 18966 at 6PM. Try not to park in front of the store! I will take you on a 4 mile easy run and afterwards reward you with a small water ice.
No matter how you pronounce it; wa-ter or wad-er, please drinks lots of it today! The temperatures are expected to be in the 90's which would make tonight's workout the first extremely hot workout of the season. Be smart and mix in plenty of water today to prevent your body failing on you tonight. I will see you all tonight at 6PM.
