Tomorrow I will be at CRS at 5:30 to do a ladder workout if anyone is looking to add some extra speed conditioning to your legs. I will be starting my 1 mile warm-up at 5:30PM and stretching after that so, if you can't get there right at 5:30 you should be fine.
Also if you're interested in a long sleeve shirt which is on the Speedster Blog, money needs to be in by this Friday!
Thanks,
CT

Balance Bands out Speedster Bands in.
I know you have seen it or worse like me bought into it hoping that the "I just got suckered" feeling would go away. I'm talking about the infamous Balance Bands that are at almost every expo, you know the bands that are made of rubber and have a reflector sticker on one side that is suppose to be a super balancing computer chip. The reason I bring this up a fellow Speedster who just PR'd at the AC Marathon contacted me and said that when the bear jumped on his back late into the race he looked down at his Speedster band and read the words "Dig Deep" that are embedded into the rubber. He lifted his head and pushed through the pain to PR. Some how this worked better then the super computer chip in the Balance band. Big surprise! Hat's off to all the Speedsters that have carried over their hard work and enthusiasm to compete. Charlotte-running and completing her first marathon, Kami-Breaking the 2 hour barrier twice now, Allyson-Crushing her PR with a 3:05 in Chicago, Reene-PRing, Wendy-PRing, Harris-Qualifying for Boston, Mike Brown-PRing at the Wine Glass with awful weather, and Breandan-Percerviering and PRing in AC. These are just the ones that are on top of my head so if I missed you I apologize. Keep Digging Deep Speedsters!

Steve Jobs
As you all know the Founder of Apple passed away today, and Allyson had shared a link with me that was very encouraging. The link which you can find below takes you to a Commencement Speech Jobs gave in 2005, if you would like to read it I think you will enjoy it. I was able to take a lot from it and am very happy that Allyson shared it with me. I have always said that Apple will rule the world some day, I just wished I had bought into the stock. Jobs also mentions in his speech that you should always do what makes you happy and I have told that line to several people that had come to me for advice on their life. I have always said if your not happy, be it the relationship your in, your job, or with how your living you need to change it. Here is the the passage that struck home to me and these words will stay with me for a life time:
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. -Steve Jobs

Long sleeve Shirts
If you ordered a long sleeve shirt and have not given me money please do so ASAP! I have quite a few that signed up, but did not pay. We also are in need of 3 more shirts to be ordered before I can place the order. The minimum order for screen printing is 12 we have 9 shirts ordered and only 6 that paid. I thought the shirts would have been a bigger hit? So, if you have not paid please contact me via e-mail so I can send you my mailing address or set up a time and place for the money. Also if you're interested in one of these shirts feel free to email me.
Thanks,

It's all over with now we Turkey trot and do the Winter Series
What's more satisfying completing the 6 week Yasso program or the 6 month Speed workout program? We had another stellar year, training and competing amongst ourselves. We had partaken in the first ever Blue & Orange competition that led us to our first ever BCRR Speedsters Blue & Orange Track & Field Day (might need to shorten that). We ran the first couple of months at Neshaminy, where we got locked out the first day, and pushed out a few other times forcing us to run around soccer fields. After that we moved back to Council Rock South to finish out the season. We had our first ever "almost perfect attendance award" (still scratching my head about that one). We had 94 runners come out this year which was one less then last season. We had an average of 30 runners come out each night no matter what track or soccer field we ran on and no matter if the workout fell on a Tuesday or a Thursday. I commend all of you on your hard work and dedication. You came out to get faster and stronger with your running. Running is the one love affair we all share. I hope that you all had as great of an experience this year as I did. I love that I can give you all a stage to perform on and you do. Here's to a successful 2011 season, may it help you own your Winter Series age groups, and here's to next season may it present us all with more success and excitement.
Much Love,
Chris Thompson
